Ludwig Van Beethovens Life and Accomplishments Essay

Ludwig Van Beethoven was born on December 16, 1770 in Bonn, Germany and he died on March 26, 1827 in Vienna Austria. Beethoven’s music is mostly associated with the classical era because that is when he crafted most of his greatest works. Beethoven’s father and grandfather were both musicians that played at Court of Elector of Cologne. Beethoven’s main instrument that he played was the piano. He was taught by his father how to play the piano. His father was very strict on him, and sometimes he made Beethoven, â€Å"stand at the keyboard, was often in tears.† He had other teachers that taught him how to play the violin, and how to play the piano. In 1779, Beethoven began to learn how to write compositions under the teachings of Christian†¦show more content†¦He used ear horns as his hearing aid to help him hear well, but it was not that affective. He had conversation books to help communicate to people. He would have people write what they would sa y in these books, and then he would say what he had to say. Towards the end of Beethoven’s life, he most lied in his bed. Many of his friends came to visit him in his final day. The reason of his death is still unknown. Some say it was because of, â€Å"alcoholic cirrhosis, syphilis, infectious hepatitis, lead poisoning, sarcoidosis and Whipples diseases have all been proposed.† I believe Beethoven is the greatest composer of all time because of his great work and effort he put into his music. He became deaf and still managed to write such astounding music. He may have had thoughts of suicide, but his close friends and family members, and self determination to overcome that feeling, kept him going to write his masterpieces. My most favorite symphony by Beethoven is his ninth symphony. The piece of music that Beethoven had written, that I believe is his best is his ninth symphony. Beethoven’s ninth symphony is in D minor, Op. 125. It has four movements to it. My favorite is the fourth movement, which is known as, â€Å"Ode to Joy.† It is also known as â€Å"the Choral.† It is his final symphony he ever wrote before his death.
